A man and teenager have been found dead with gunshot wounds inside a New South Wales home.

The bodies of the pair, aged 15 and 58, were found at Yamba at 1.10pm today.

Both suffered gunshot wounds, police said.

“Initial inquiries indicate the 58-year-old man was a licensed firearms holder and detectives have requested his licensing history from the NSW Firearms Registry,” NSW Police said in a statement tonight.

“While the investigation by officers from Coffs Clarence Police District is in its infancy, police don’t believe a third party was involved.”

A crime scene has been established and will undergo forensic examination.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
