Police said the teenager was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing at Main Road West in St Albans when he was hit by the car just after 8.30am today.

The driver did not stop and fled the scene, police said.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they were searching for the blue Ford Falcon sedan.
