A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Sydney’s east.

Emergency services were called to Beauchamp Road in Maroubra at 4am on Saturday following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

The teen suffered serious injuries to both his legs in the collision.

He was taken to Randwick Hospital in a stable condition.

A pair of what appeared to be black shoes were seen lying on the side of the road.

The driver allegedly fled the scene following the collision.

NSW Police said several lines of inquiry would be investigated, including if the incident was a deliberate hit, 9News reports.
