‘Teen Mom’ Star Chelsea DeBoer Says ‘Goodbye’ To Her Great Dane Of Nine-Years

“Teen Mom 2” star Chelsea [Houska] DeBoer has lost a family member.

The former MTV reality star shared that her Great Dane, Phil, has passed away. The merle Great Dane was nine-years-old.

The average lifespan of that breed is seven-to-ten years, so Phil lived a rather long life.

She posted a video montage on her Instagram account and captioned the tear-jerking video, “Grateful for 9 years with this boy 🌈.”

Chelsea, Cole & Aubree Mourn The Loss Of Their Great Dane

The video montage shows photos of Phil with her first-born daughter, Aubree, since he was a puppy and she was a little girl.

Aubree is now 13-years-old, so this was a dog she grew up with.

The post included a voiceover, talking about the “tough” time they’re having while saying goodbye to their pet.

Another video shows her husband, Cole DeBoer, petting Phil while on the phone, and another with his head in his hand while Aubree hugs her big dog.

It’s truly gut wrenching.

Chelsea’s “Teen Mom” Family Sends Their Prayers & Condolences

She was showered by “Teen Mom” co-stars.

Her father wrote, “The fact that we almost always outlive our pets is the most painful part. The good part is that the honor of having their companionship far outweighs the pain of their passing.”

Kailyn Lowry wrote, “Oh my gosh. I’m so sorry. Cannot believe it’s been nine years. Thinking of y’all 🤍🕊️🌈.”

Cole wrote, “We love you Phil ❤️.”

Chelsea is no stranger to tragically losing a pet.

In 2013, her dog Frankie was killed by a neighbor’s Husky. This was captured on MTV cameras.

And in 2015, Chelsea’s black French Bulldog, Darla, passed away.

The Frenchie suffered complications after surgery.

“After surgery, Darla had some complications pulling through and we lost our sweet and very loving dog,” she captioned the memorial post. “She’s been with us through a lot and she has been such a great friend to Aubree and I. We miss you Dar.”

She’s also got a plethora of farm animals.

In addition to her mini-zoo, Chelsea and Cole share three children together, and he legally adopted Aubree a few years ago.

The couple embarked on a new reality TV adventure earlier this year.

Cole and Chelsea debuted their HGTV show, “Down Home Fab,” in January and it’s been greenlit for a second season.

“I’d say my style is South Dakota glam,” Chelsea says in the clip.

Both Cole and Chelsea are born and raised in South Dakota so cowhides, antlers, the color black and “anything a little bit different” is their go-to style.

“Down Home Fab” came to fruition from redesigning their own home and getting feedback on social media.

They have a design business where they show their clients how to take chances and go bold in their designs

Chelsea calls herself the “designer” while Cole dubs himself the “project manager.”

The new eight-episode season is slated to air in early 2024.

“Chelsea and Cole’s undeniable on-screen chemistry and enthusiasm for renovation brings in millions of fans every week to HGTV’s platforms,” says Loren Ruch, Head of Content, HGTV. “We can’t wait to get the ball rolling on a new season, and in the meantime we’ve got three upcoming episodes and lots more digital content with this dynamic couple in store.”
