A grieving Perth family is searching for answers after a fiery crash killed a young mechanic.

He was killed after veering off Canning Dam Road in Ashendon in Perth’s south east last night.

His Honda Civic smashed into a tree and exploded.

A passing motorist called emergency services but the 19-year-old couldn’t be saved.

His heartbroken parents and siblings visited the scene with friends and classmates and laid flowers.

How the teenager lost control and crashed causing the deadly explosion is under police investigation.
