A teenager has died after being injured in a workplace incident in Perth, police have confirmed.

The 16-year-old is believed to have sustained critical injuries at worksite in Welshpool this morning just after 8am.

The boy was transported by ambulance to hospital, though he died a short time later.

WorkSafe – Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety has launched an investigation into the incident.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
