Two police officers and a teenager were injured in two seperate hooning events in Queensland last night.
At an illegal hooning meet at Swanbank in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, a teenage bystander was hit by a car as it spun out of control.
He’s in a serious condition in hospital.
At the same time, two police officers were allegedly assaulted and injured by another group during a hooning crackdown on the Gold Coast.
The officers were hit with rocks and bricks by a large group of people wearing balaclavas on Christine Avenue at Robina about 6.30pm.
Police said they’re using facial analysis to identify the criminals and their cars.
“The two officers in the vehicle tonight have sustained glass fragment injuries and one has glass to the eye so he’s been transported by QAS to hospital,” Chris Tritton from Queensland Police said.
“These kind of acts of violence towards police won’t be tolerated towards any emergency service.

“We’ll continue to gather our evidence and analyse faces and also vehicles and there will be a swift response by police in the coming days.”
A marked police van was also damaged during the assault.
Before the incident, police had located about 100 hoons with their cars.
Police said the group quickly dispersed, fleeing into surrounding streets before several people were detained.
A 20-year-old Boondall man has been charged with two counts of serious assault of police and one count of wilful damage of Commissioner’s property.
Others people were later released by police.
Police were conducting Operation Victor Carve targeting hooning and anti-social behaviour at time of the assault.
It’s an offence to watch or take part in such events.
