Tasmania Tourism has made a call to Australians with a unique proposition to fill a quirky list of “odd jobs” – and they’ll even pay for you to get there.

The hiring blitz is part of a campaign to entice winter visitors, with vacancies open for jobs, including a “wombat walker, oyster organiser, and paranormal investigator”.

The jobs themselves will be unpaid, but the chosen candidates will have their accommodation and flights paid down to the Apple Isle.

The suburbs Australia’s rich call home

All you need to do to get the job is put together an application with 50 words or less.

If you make the shortlist, you could be chosen by a local business to help out and enjoy a quirky winter retreat.

East Coast Natureworld, for example, is looking for a Wombat Walker to keep the fluffy creatures physically and mentally happy, leading them on their morning waddles as part of their rehabilitation program.
