A great-grandmother who died after she was allegedly Tasered by a NSW Police officer has been remembered by loved ones at her funeral.
The president of St Vincent de Paul Society for Canberra and Goulburn John Faint said Nowland had volunteered at the organisation for 55 years.
“Clare gave remarkable service to the St Vincent de Paul Society,” Faint said.
“She spent that time helping in the local store here at the Vinnies shop and helping people in this community who are poor and needy.”
He said she was the first female president in the region and touched many people over the years.
