Tallulah Willis Gives Moving Update On Father Bruce Willis During ‘TODAY’ Interview

Tallulah Willis has delivered an update on her father, Bruce Willis‘ condition.

While opening up to TODAY‘s Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, she shared that “he’s stable, which in this situation, is good,” per The Daily Mail.

“It’s hard. There’s painful days,” she lamented. “But there’s so much love, and it’s really shown me to not take any moment for granted. And I really do think that we’d be best friends. I think he’s very proud of me.”

Guthrie brought up the advice that Tallulah received from her mother, Demi Moore, noting that “when you see him, you can’t be thinking about what was or what you hoped it would be.”

Tallulah added, “You have to be in the moment. You have to be present.”

Guthrie replied, “But he recognizes you and he knows it’s you.”

Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, prior to being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), per ABC News. Ahead of Moonlighting‘s streaming debut on Hulu, series creator Glenn Gordon Caron revealed that Bruce had been “rendered incommunicative,” but insisted that he was “really happy that the show is going to be available for people, even though he can’t tell [him] that.”

During a November 2023 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Tallulah had told host Drew Barrymore that she “thinks it’s two-fold” as to why she and her family are “so open” about her father’s condition, citing the fact that “it’s who [they] are as a family,” as well as how “important” it is for them “to spread awareness about FTD.”

“If we can take something that we’re struggling with as a family and individually to help other people, to turn it around, to make something beautiful about it, that’s really special for us,” she shared at the time.

Per The Daily Mail, Tallulah also spoke to TODAY about being diagnosed with autism at age 29, explaining that she was “misdiagnosed for many years.” She described her diagnosis as “very emotional,” deeming it a “relief,” per the New York Post.

TODAY airs on weekdays at 7 a.m. ET on NBC.
