People living in the town of Bornes Hill, near Dunkeld, have been told to “take shelter now” as a bushfire approaches, with a VicEmergency alert warning that it is now too late to leave the area safely.
The bushfire is currently travelling in a southerly direction towards Wannon River and is spotting into the North Boundary Road area.
“You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive,” the warning says.
“The safest option is to take shelter indoors immediately.
“It is too late to leave.”
