The Committee for Sydney surveyed more than 1000 people across the city to assess how residents are feeling about their quality of life in 2023.

The results found 83 per cent of Greater Sydney residents were satisfied with their quality of life, compared to New York City (75 per cent), London (76 per cent) and Toronto (64 per cent).

But 85 per cent of all residents are concerned about the rising cost of living.

The data shows 33 per cent of people are commuting to work up to five days a week and 47 per cent are working from home.

There has been a considerable drop in people working from home full time, with only 12 per cent not leaving their house for work compared to 30 per cent in 2022.

The Victorian capital also came 10th in the world’s most livable cities index last August, while Sydney did not make the list.
