Sydney Train commuters are experiencing delays and service disruptions following an early morning strike

Sydney Train commuters are experiencing major delays and service disruptions following an early morning strike.

The strike by members of the Rail, Tram, and Bus Union took place at 3.00am and lasted just five minutes, but it caused widespread disruptions across the entire train network.

All major train lines in Sydney are affected, with thousands of commuters heading to work being warned to expect longer waits and gaps between services.

Commuters are urged to check the Transport NSW website for live updates and allow extra travel time.

‘Trains stops and platforms may change at short notice and some trains may be cancelled,’ Sydney Trains said in a statement.

‘Extra travel time may be experienced in some cases and you may need to change to continue your trip.

‘Consider using Metro services between Epping, Chatswood, Central, and Sydenham as an alternative.’
