Glen Powell received several birthday well-wishes from pals over the weekend — including a message from his “Anyone But You” lead co-star, Sydney Sweeney.
“Happy birthday to my fellow camp counselor, adventure extraordinaire, and goof ball,” the Euphoria star, 26, wrote via her Instagram Story on Saturday.
Powell, who celebrated his 35th birthday, reshared the photo of the pair, which appeared to be taken on set when they filmed the rom-com. The duo both donned sunglasses and wide-brimmed hats for the funny snapshot.
Earlier this year, Sweeney and the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor made headlines when their coziness on social media had fans buzzing that they may have been having an affair. Sweeney had been spotted on multiple occasions not wearing her engagement ring from fiance, Jonathan Davino, and Powell and his girlfriend, Gigi Paris, split amid the production.
“Gigi and Glen had broken up several times,” a source told People in April. “They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long distance filming and when she came to Australia [where Powell was filming Anyone But You] they both decided to break up for good.”
Even more, Paris unfollowed Sweeney on Instagram.
“Gigi only unfollowed Sydney on social media because Sydney never followed her back. This had nothing to do with Glen and Sydney. Gigi is aware that Glen and Sydney never hooked up,” the source added. “He takes his work very seriously and it was tough on the relationship.”

“They’re filming a movie that’s a romantic comedy!” a second insider noted. It’s like when people say about movie stars, ‘Oh, they have such good chemistry.’ It’s just their job. They’re friends that met on set. They’re costars.”
Sweeney herself defended their friendship — and finally responded to the cheating allegations — in a Variety interview published in August.
“Sometimes I feel beat up by it. It’s hard to sit back and watch, and not be able to stand up for yourself,” she told the publication.
“Glen and I don’t really care,” she continued. “We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”
She said of the alleged affair headlines: “We talk all the time, like, ‘That’s really funny.’”
In May, Sweeney wore her engagement ring for the first time in nearly a year when she was photographed departing the luxe Hotel Martinez in the French Riviera with her longtime love.
“Anyone But You” hits theaters on Dec. 22, 2023.
