A woman watched in horror as her 16-year-old cousin was stabbed to death at a busy bus station in Melbourne in broad daylight.
The relative, who did not want to be named, said she was on a bus when she saw someone stabbing her cousin, Pasawm Lyhym, at Sunshine Station bus interchange on Thursday afternoon.
She said she didn’t see the assailant’s face but saw the knife in their hand.
‘I screamed and said that’s him, that’s him (her cousin),’ she told The Herald Sun.
‘I tried to run and get help. I didn’t want to look. It was all so fast.’

Officers were seen interviewing bystanders at the bus interchange on Thursday afternoon
His older brother Mawn Lyhym, 24, said his brother, who was heading home, was chased down by at least one attacker.
‘He was funny, really nice, a welcoming and kind person,’ Mr Lyhym said of his brother.
Pasawm attended Staughton College in Melbourne and would often visit the interchange to hang out with friends after school.
Several family members gathered at the interchange on Thursday as detectives inspected the crime scene.

Emergency services were called to Station Place at about 3.45pm following reports of an injured male.
Victoria Police say the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still to be determined and the Homicide Squad are investigating.

There have been reports of youths with knifes hanging around the bus interchange.
Trains on the Sunbury line ran non-stop through Sunshine station at the request of police for nearly an hour.
Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or has mobile phone, dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact police.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
Last month, a woman was slashed across the face at a takeaway shop in nearby Sunshine North.
That incident happened on April 11 after a couple ordered food at the store on Furlong Road about 7pm.
A woman collected the food at the counter before the man with her reached over and slashed the female attendant across the face with an edged weapon.
The 49-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor facial injuries.
A nearby resident said on Thursday she was concerned as she felt like this ‘happens a lot here’ .
