Sunrise hosts shocked as cafe owner makes an extraordinary comment about Annastacia Palaszczuk

A cafe owner fed up with the youth crime crisis has blasted Annastacia Palaszczuk – issuing an extraordinary call for her to ‘grow a set -‘ in a furious rant on live TV which left Sunrise hosts stunned.

Tribe Coffee Co owner Mark Ingram unleashed on the Queensland Premier on Wednesday morning after his Brisbane-based coffee cart business was targeted by young thieves for the third time in 12 months.

It was one of several businesses targeted by a group of armed teenage thieves driving around in an allegedly stolen Audi across the state’s south-east on Sunday.

Dubbed as the ‘part-time premier’, Ms Palaszczuk was spotted north of the border on the weekend attending the Splendour in the Grass festival in Byron Bay as her state faces a youth crime and costs of living crisis.

Mr Ingham didn’t hold back when asked by Sunrise co-host Matt Shirvington if he had a message for Ms Palaszczuk.

‘Toughen up! Stop gallivanting around, around the world and telling everyone how good you are,’ he fumed.

‘And actually grow a set and look in your own backyard. It’s not just in this area, it’s right up the coast. 

‘You know, you hear of it happening in Townsville, you hear it happening in other cities.’

Mr Ingram pleaded for Ms Palaszczuk to intervene before it’s too late.

‘She needs to knuckle down and grow a set and actually do something about it because it’s gonna get to the point where someone’s gonna get hurt, physically hurt and yeah, you know we obviously we don’t want it to get to that point,’ his rant continued.

‘No one, no one wants it to get to that point. So she needs to do something now.

‘Crack down on it now before it gets all that happens and before something worse happens.’

Shirvington appeared to look stunned by the rant and extended an invitation to the Premier to appear on the show and respond to Mr Ingram’s comments.

Co-host Nat Barr added: ‘Tough words from Mark there, weren’t there?’

Mr Ingram’s cafe business had been targeted by thieves three times in the last year.

The most recent incident was on Sunday morning when a female worker was allegedly threatened at gunpoint and had her handbag stolen while opening up a coffee cart at Ascot in Brisbane.

Two teens have since been charged.
