A teenage girl has allegedly been drugged then sexually assaulted by a man she had just met near Sydney‘s Central station.

Police alleged the girl was speaking to the man on Hay Street, Haymarket, about 7.30pm on Wednesday before they walked to a nearby car park.

The man allegedly gave her an intoxicating substance and raped her, knowing she had not consented.

After he left, the girl contacted a friend who notified police.

Clayton Deccaford, 34, was arrested at Waterloo late on Thursday and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16 years, attempted aggravated sexual assault and using an intoxicating substance to commit an indictable offence.

Police allege he gave the girl methylamphetamine.

The Maroubra man remains behind bars after not applying for bail at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Friday.

His case is due to return to court on March 30.
