Despite his expertise typically involving marine creatures, Rerekura sprang into action upon spotting the python.

“There were a few people with their feet up, a bit worried, but I don’t think people realised it was true,” Rerekura recounted. 

He promptly retrieved the snake, describing it as “super cute” and “pretty scared”.

The airline crew swiftly declared the plane free of any reptilian stowaways, allowing the flight to proceed. 

It safely arrived at Perth Airport, much to the relief of passengers and crew alike.
