Stormy Daniels, the woman at the centre of the Donald Trump hush money payment allegations, has spoken out, revealing she does not want to see the former US president jailed for his alleged crimes.

The former adult film actress spoke with the TalkTV host Piers Morgan as Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree in a New York courtroom on Tuesday.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was speaking on Friday for the first time since the indictment and arrest of Trump.

She pledged she will testify if asked to give evidence against Trump at trial.

I have nothing to hide,” Daniels said.

But she added that she does not believe Trump should be sent to prison if found guilty of the alleged crimes.

“Specific to my case, I don’t think that his crimes against me are worthy of incarceration.”

Daniels told British broadcaster Morgan she watched some of Trump’s arraignment and said she wanted to see justice done.

“The king been dethroned. He is no longer untouchable. And nobody should be untouchable.

“It doesn’t matter what your job description is, whether you are the president. You should be held responsible for your actions.”

This week Trump pleaded not guilty in a New York City courtroom to a 34-count felony indictment accusing him falsifying business records in a scheme to hush up allegations of extramarital affairs with Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal that broke during his first White House run.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, alleges she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and was paid $130,000 as part of a nondisclosure agreement days before the 2016 presidential election.

Trump has acknowledged that reimbursed the money to his former lawyer Michael Cohen but claimed it was for legal fees.

The former president denies the claim by Daniels that they had sex in 2006.

Daniels told Morgan that she took the money because she didn’t want anyone to know about the affair with Trump.

Trump is the first former president to be charged with a crime.
