Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton have heated exchange as Giants’ frustration spills over

The frustration of not being competitive is spilling over onto the Giants’ sideline, as receivers Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard got in each other’s faces during a heated discussion.

The incident was shown during the third quarter of the Fox broadcast as the Giants were again being thrashed by the Cowboys in what ended up being a 49-17 loss Sunday.

It’s unclear what exactly sparked the exchange, but Shepard went up to Slayton and appeared to be trying to calm his fellow receiver down.

Shepard continued to chirp at Slayton as he followed him down the sideline.

Slayton was then also shown having an extended discussion with Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

It was the second Giants star the coach needed to console with the team headed to 2-8 and their awful season continuing.

Fox’s Tom Rinaldi reported Daboll and running back Saquon Barkley had a “heated discussion” during the second quarter.

During the frame, Barkley was stopped on a fourth-and-2 from the Cowboys’ 6-yard line, preventing the Giants from capitalizing on an interception.

Barkley was pacing on the sideline after his talk with Daboll.

The offense has looked dreadful with third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito under center.

DeVito did throw a 10-yard touchdown to Lawrence Cager, but the Giants had just 172 yards of total offense.
