A speed camera operator has been allegedly assaulted in a late-night attack carried out by a group of men in Melbourne’s north.
Around five men ambushed the traffic camera vehicle on Nicholson St in Coburg just after midnight.
The group allegedly jumped on the car and threw items at the vehicle, smashing several windows.
The 36-year-old camera operator, from St Albans, managed to drive away from the scene and flag help.
He was treated for minor cuts.
