Speaking on Today, Matt Kean was asked several times to explicitly confirm that Perrottet’s job wasn’t under threat, and that a sudden change in leadership was not imminent.
“Loud and clear, absolutely,” Kean eventually said.
“He has shown his integrity and the government will move on now.”
Kean said Perrottet remained the “best person” to lead the party “into the election and beyond”.
The premier, 40, has faced a barrage of criticism since he revealed he wore a Nazi costume on his 21st birthday.

Perrottet has insisted his job is safe and he has also played down suggestions a faction inside the party were trying to damage his leadership ahead of March polling.

“What we want to see is Dominic Perrottet lead the Liberal Party into the election and beyond,” Kean said.
“That’s exactly what’s going to happen.”
Perrottet said he was “deeply ashamed” of his actions, and he has repeatedly apologised to the Jewish community, Holocaust survivors, veterans and their families.
“I am truly sorry for the terrible mistake.”
