The flights will return to the US in the afternoons.

“All these other brands are calling Adelaide home before Qantas, so hopefully it’s a bit of a motivator for Qantas to get things happening as quickly as possible,” South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said.

South Australian residents have expressed an eagerness to travel regardless of the carrier as long as prices are competitive.

“I’m looking forward to that because my daughter is planning on going to America at Christmas time,” another said.
