The sudden death of a socialite’s son from Sydney’s eastern suburbs remains shrouded in mystery after he was discovered face down in a Balinese swimming pool.
Aston Looker, an 18-year-old fashion model from Sydney, was found dead in the pool on August 22, with police launching an investigation when they were alerted to his death.
His distraught mother, interior designer Amanda Lennon, told friends she only found out about her son’s death – and his funeral – by text from her former husband, Saxon Looker.
‘Her ex cremated him before she arrived in Bali,’ a friend said.
‘She received a text message from Saxon that read, “Aston cremated”.’
Close friends said Ms Lennon, also a former model, is distraught at the loss of her eldest child, but she broke cover last week to join Sydney’s A-list elite for a glamour lunch.
‘As you can imagine, she is beside herself with grief,’ a friend said.
‘There is still a deep mystery surrounding his death which she’s still grappling with.’

Saxon Looker runs a number of surfboard businesses in Bali where he has been based since 2005.
It is not suggested that he had any involvement in the death of his son.
Aston was a former student at St Josephs College in Hunters Hill on Sydney’s north shore and he was remembered in a memorial service at the school’s chapel on September 6.
Ms Lennon has posted a series of moving tributes on social media, recently opening up about her profound loss.
‘My supermodel son is in heaven,’ she wrote.
‘We love you forever. We love your cheeky personality and amazing looks but most of all you humour.
‘Your mum will never ever forget you, my favourite person in the universe.’
She added: ‘Aston you are gone too soon and will be mourning your death that was too soon.’
Ms Lennon runs in an exclusive eastern suburbs clique, including Real Housewives of Sydney star Victoria Montano, Kate Champion – the wife of Laser Clinics Australia co-founder – and Linda Rogan who made headlines this year over her affair with WiseTech billionaire Richard White.
She was spotted at last Thursday’s A-List lunch hosted by White’s newlywed wife Zena Nasser at Mimi’s restaurant at Coogee Pavilion in the eastern suburbs.

Reality TV star Victoria Montano paid tribute to Aston, her godson, in a candid social media post following his funeral.
‘Today we celebrated the life of Aston Looker. People with fragile hearts are the bravest most beautiful miracles. Aston was my friend alongside his wonderful mother,’ her post began.
‘It was his vulnerability that drew you in. His sensitivity. His creative mind which no doubt worked away all day at a million miles an hour. He wore his heart on his sleeve.’
She added: ‘On the occasions that we had time for a deeper conversation I always noted that he was able to express himself unlike any other male I knew.
‘Asty – a life taken too soon. A wasted life of a wonderful young man. We will all miss you. I love you very much Asty Mou – Vic.’

Bali police told Daily Mail Australia they had not been alerted about Aston’s tragic death by his parents.
‘We did not get any report about it,’ said police spokesman Jansen Avitus Panjaitan.
‘The family of the victim did not make any report to police.
‘The incident was only subsequently discovered by Mengwi Police. They launched an immediate investigation.
‘Based on the results of the investigation that had been carried out, detectives concluded that no criminal act was involved in Aston’s death.’
