The four men, who were uninjured, were able to hide and call police, who arrived a short time later and commenced a major operation.

Uriarra Village, a small historic village in the ACT, went into lockdown and roadblocks were put in place.

Police told anyone who was not returning to their homes to avoid the area.

The man, 20, was found around 10pm yesterday riding a quad bike and allegedly trying to leave the property.

He was arrested and charged with four counts of discharging a loaded gun.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
