Up to six men got out of the vehicles, believed to be armed with bats and other items, before they approached one of the riders and allegedly assaulted him.

Police said the 51-year-old man had been in an argument with the group before he was chased.

He was bashed and left in the driveway of a stranger’s house before he was taken to hospital with arm injuries.

The cyclist is currently too unwell to speak with police about the incident.

The other cyclist managed to get away and police are searching for them.
