‘Sinners’ reigns at box office for second straight week

“Sinners” is still stirring up trouble in the box office, beating out all the other movies for the second week in a row.

The horror film, which was fittingly released on Good Friday, took in $13 million this Friday, according to The Numbers.

The Michael B. Jordan-starring flick, which cost $90 million to produce, is slated to hit the $100 million-dollar domestic mark on Saturday, according to Variety.

As of now, it’s on track to become the second-best grossing second weekend for an R-rated horror movie after 2017’s “It,” as per Deadline.

In the second spot was Disney’s re-release of “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith,” which earned $11.3 million.

The 2005 film, which is expected to rake in around $20 million in total this weekend, returned to theaters in time for its 20th anniversary.

“The Accountant 2” landed in third, with a $9.43 million take.

The action thriller, starring Ben Affleck as a CPA, is the sequel to the 2016 original.

AV Club called it “a wannabe meatheaded buddy comedy” that’s “just taxing.”

“A Minecraft Movie,” which was in second last Friday, flew down two notches to fourth, with sales of $5.1 million.

In fifth was another horror movie, “Until Dawn,” which eek-ed in $3.2 million in revenue.
