Sinead O’Connor’s cause of death has been released nearly five months after her death. The legendary musician — who died on July 23, 2023 — passed away from natural causes, according to a London coroner, reports CNN. “This is to confirm that Ms. O’Connor died of natural causes,” the Southwark Coroners Court said in a statement to HuffPost. “The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death. No further comments will be made.”
At the time of her death, O’Connor’s family confirmed the tragic news of her passing in a joint statement. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead,” they wrote (via People). “Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
Unfortunately, as HuffPost noted, O’Connor died just over one year after she buried her teenage son, Shane O’Connor.
