Two men in their 20s are facing possible lengthy jail terms after they were accused of raping two teenage girls they met at a suburban Brisbane train station.

Abdalaziz Ismail Idris, 27, and Shimiye Ivan, 23, have both been accused of raping the two girls, aged 13 and 14, who they met at Woodridge train station, in the city’s south, just after midnight on December 1, 2024.

Police allege the two men, who are both of Sudanese heritage, lied about their age and said they were teenagers when they invited the girls back to Ivan’s house at Slacks Creek in the early hours of the morning.

One of the victims allegedly told police the men had claimed they were 18 and 19 despite the fact they were 22 and 26 at the time.

At the home the men are alleged to have supplied the girls with cannabis which they smoked from a bong in the backyard.

Police will allege the girls asked to go to bed after the drugs began making them feel sick and the men the men then sexually assaulted one girl each in the same bed.

The younger victim told police after leaving the house that the assault was ‘really really rough’ and that neither girl had consented to it, reported the Courier Mail.

Both men have been charged with one count of rape and a second count of rape as a party as the alleged offending happened in the same bed.

Idris has also been accused of supplying cannabis to a child and he intends to contest the charges.

DNA tests which were taken by police are expected to face ‘significant delays’, his Legal Aid duty lawyer told the court.

Police will allege both girls are likely to suffer lifelong effects from the alleged crimes and that both men were aware the girls were children but continued to pursue them for sex regardless.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Wade Domagala alleged to the court Idris was a risk to the community.

Magistrate Annette Hennessy agreed Idris needed to be kept ‘away from young girls’ as she denied his bail request in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Idris lives with his parents and is alleged to have purchased the cannabis for $30 earlier in the night before telling the girls it was ‘medical grade’.

The victim who reported the alleged rape told officers that despite the feeling ill, both girls attempted to physically resist it, prosecutors will allege.

When she arrived at the police station to report what had allegedly happened she told officers it was painful to sit down and forensic medical staff found a bruise on her inner thigh.

Police will allege Idris was identified by the girls on a police photo board as well as in CCTV footage from the train station on the night of the alleged rapes.

Magistrate Hennessy told the court she did not consider any bail conditions to be appropriate for Idris or Ivan.

‘I don’t consider that any bail conditions could properly protect the community from such behaviour,’ Ms Hennessy told Idris, the publication reported

‘Your … history … [indicated] that you are prepared to engage in this type of behaviour, to a lesser extent, on past occasions.’

Idris was also ordered to undergo a medical test for sexually transmitted diseases.

Magistrate Hennessy ordered Idris to return to court alongside Ivan via video-link on February 12.
