Seventeen people including teenagers as young as 13 were arrested after a mass brawl that broke out on a bus in Adelaide and left a woman with head injuries

A group got on a bus on West Terrace in the CBD, before about 20 passengers became involved in a fight, according to police.

The driver stopped the bus at George Street in nearby Thebarton and called the police.

One women suffered head injuries and two others were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Several teenagers were among those arrested, with the oldest of the group aged 58.

The driver was not injured, but the bus windshield was smashed.

Those arrested were charged all with aggravated affray and damaging property.

They were barred from public transport for three months and were granted bail to appear in court later.

Police are investigating.
