From the outside, an unassuming brick building looks like any normal warehouse but hiding inside is a stunning contemporary five-bedroom home. 

The 1920s-built warehouse was originally a wheelie bin factory and lies in the inner-city Melbourne suburb of Kensington which is just 4km north of the CBD.

The warehouse was first erected one hundred years ago and at one point acted as Australia’s first factory for plastic moulded wheelie bins then in 1992 became a residential property 

There is a vast lounge and dining area that features stretching light timber ceilings contrasted by exposed black beams as well as polished concrete floors and rendered brick walls that are reminiscent of the home’s century-old roots

From the entrance, down the stone and wood steps there is a vast lounge and dining area that features stretching light timber ceilings contrasted by exposed black beams as well as polished concrete floors and rendered brick walls that are reminiscent of the home’s century-old roots. 

A sound-proofed studio space is by the entryway and stairs lead up to a blank-canvas mezzanine that overlooks the lounge room. 

Through the lounge is a family room with a sleek white kitchen featuring subway tiles, terrazzo floors and stone benchtops. 

There is an adjoining light-filled second lounge with a built-in study area while next door, a home office features built-in desks and a mini library.
