Another person has been charged over a riot that broke out in Sydney’s west, following an alleged terrorist attack on Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley on Monday.
Police said a 45-year-old man was arrested at a home in Throsby Street, Fairfield Heights, at about 6.20pm on Friday.
He was taken to Fairfield Police station where he was charged with two offences, including riot and threatening violence, causing fear.
He has been refused to bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.
NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said investigators were looking for up to 50 people over the riots, which saw dozens of police cars damaged and five police hospitalised.
One suffered injuries to their face, while another injured their knee, after items like bricks and metal objects were thrown at them.
Webb made it clear that rioters were not related to the church’s parish, and showed up “as an excuse” to cause problems for police.
