The search for the bodies of allegedly murdered Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies has been expanded, as family members pay tribute to the pair.

The search has gone beyond Sydney and Newcastle with detectives now combing through a part of the NSW town of Goulburn.

Detectives have also been seen removing more bags of items from Baird’s home in Paddington in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

NSW Police Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon was charged on Friday with their murders.

“You cared about everyone and left such an impact on every person you met,” he said.

Earlier today, the NSW Police Commissioner issued a statement about the “distressing” alleged murders amid scrutiny over police protocols.

“I understand there are many unanswered questions and while I cannot comment on the matter before the courts, I can reassure Luke and Jesse’s loved ones, and the people of NSW, that we are working around the clock to find those answers.” Commissioner Karen Webb said in a statement.
