Festival-goers at Vivid Sydney were left outraged by the ‘ridiculous’ price being charged for a simple sausage sizzle.

The event, known for its dazzling light displays, returned to Sydney on May 24. However many attendees were left stunned at a food vendor charging $8.50 for a sausage with onions in bread.

One frustrated attendee shared a photo of the vendor’s price list to Reddit, commenting: ‘I’ve seen everyone talking about the crowds and not being able to see the drone show this year, but can we please talk about the price of a sausage in bread.

‘I don’t care what the reason is – $8.50 is disgusting.’
