Two of Australia’s biggest supermarkets have recalled a selection of salad products in parts of the country over fears of potential contamination.
Food Standards Australia has issued an alert about several Fresh Salad Co Baby Spinach products sold at Aldi stores due to potential microbial (STEC) contamination.
This was followed by a second alert for a selection of salad products sold at Woolworths.
“Food products contaminated with STEC may cause illness if consumed,” the watchdog said.
Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
Consumers have been warned not to eat these products and can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
The Aldi recall applies to products sold in Queensland and some stores in Northern NSW (Tweed Heads South, Ballina, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Casino, Toormina, Armidale, Byron Bay, Goonellabah, Tweed Mall, Moonee Beach).
