Russell Wilson is letting his thumbs do the talking.
As the Broncos have benched the Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Wilson has offered just one tweet in response but has instead liked several interesting tweets about his performance this season.
Two liked tweets particularly stand out.
The first compares Wilson’s season to Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ campaign.
“Russell Wilson is now getting BENCHED despite outplaying some of the leagues biggest ‘stars,’ the tweet read.
“Wilson 2023:
Passing TDs: 26
INTs: 8
Yards/Attempt: 6.9
Rushing TDs: 3
Mahomes 2023:
Passing TDs: 26
INTs: 14
Yards/Attempt: 6.9
Rushing TDs: 0
Make it make sense…”
Wilson also liked a quote tweet from NFL reporter Benjamin Allbright that noted Wilson’s production this season – albeit with some grammatical mistakes.

“Russell wilson has the seven ties (sic) passer rating in the nfl, 26 passing TDs which ties him with Tua and Mahomes (with fewer INTS than either), and leads the NFL in 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives,” Allbright tweeted Wednesday.
“There’s no narrative (sic) from me bud. Just facts.”
Wilson also liked tweets with details about how he and the Broncos got to this point, a discussion of the benching, a tweet praising him for a particular play and former quarterback turned media personality Robert Griffin III praising him for how he has handled the situation.
“Mad respect for how you have handled this entire situation @DangeRussWilson,” Griffin tweeted. “When you were disrespected, you still showed respect. When you were threatened, you led your team to wins. When you were torn down, you kept building up your guys and never wavered. God’s got your back.”
Wilson has largely been mum about the situation, other than tweeting Wednesday: “God’s got me. Looking forward to what’s next.”
His wife, Ciara, liked that tweet.
The relationship between Denver and Wilson took a turn for the worse when the Broncos reportedly asked him to adjust his contract guarantees or risk being inactive.
With the Broncos’ playoff hopes now in a rough spot after a brutal home loss to the Patriots, a game in which Wilson did not play well, the team benched him for Jarrett Stidham.
The Athletic reported that Wilson expects to be cut this offseason.
