Fire crews are searching for six people, including children, after a fire tore through three homes in Queensland.
Fire and Rescue Service crews rushed Russell Island, 60km south east of Brisbane, at 6.18am on Sunday following reports homes were on fire.
The fire took hold on Todman Street and spread to two other houses, sending plumes of thick smoke billowing into the sky.

One home has been completely destroyed by the blaze, another extinguished and a third still burning

Russell Island Rural Fire Brigade responded first to the blaze, with witnesses then seeing ambulance and fire trucks from the mainland boarding a barge to the island to assist with the fire.
About 20 firefighters are still on scene working to extinguish the flames.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said six people, including young children, remain unaccounted for.
Paramedics have treated nine patients on the island, with two of those people taken to Redlands Hospital in a stable condition.
