Rick Pitino has St. John’s fans believing they’re the March Madness ‘team to beat’

A Dream Team to celebrate, Kings of Queens and all of New York, whipped into a Big East Beast and national power with national championship aspirations by a Hall of Fame coach:

Utopia along Utopia Parkway.

Selection Sunday came to the Peter J. Tobin College of Business on the Jamaica campus on an overcast day when everyone looked skyward and saw sunshine. A white “Welcome Home St. John’s CHAMPIONS” banner proudly greeted entrants.

Thirty-nine years after the legendary Lou Carnesecca-Chris Mullin Final Four team, 2 ¹/₂ decades after the last Big East Conference Tournament championship team, Rick Pitino has given them a team to believe in.
