Australia is one of the most sought-after places in the world to live in.

We’ve got it all here: the beaches, nightlight, wide open spaces and a coffee scene that’s the envy of even the most cultured European countries.

Unfortunately though, living in one of our capital cities comes at a price – and it’s not cheap.

According to real estate experts PropTrack, the median price of rentals rose nationally by 2 per cent in the June quarter to $520 per week.

That has brought rents up by 11.8 per cent compared to the June quarter of 2022.

If you’re feeling the pinch, you might just be living in one of the more expensive cities in the country.

Click through to see where rents are cheapest, and most pricey, across the nation.
