Sue and Tony Hill had returned home from a trip around Australia to visit family when the trailer was stolen from their daughter’s home in Munno Para, North Adelaide, on Monday morning.
“I came out about 7.30 and it was gone, some lowlife took our home,” Sue said.
“Our life has just been ripped out from under us.
“It’s so hard, I just want our home back.”
The pair had used their retirement savings to buy the vehicle to travel around Australia.
The trailer’s insurance had expired only a few weeks ago, leaving the owners with nothing to show for their retirement dream.
“I’ve got plates, I’ve got cutlery, I’ve got one saucepan and I’ve got a partner I love dearly,” Sue said, listing her remaining possessions.

The family has turned to social media in hopes that “people power” will help track down the stolen trailer.
“I’ve been on the truckie pages trying to get the truckies of Australia to help,” Sue and Tony’s daughter Janene Harper said.
They believe it was last seen travelling along the Thiele Highway.
Harper also set up a GoFundMe page to help get her elderly parents back on their feet, saying they had nowhere to live and only a handful of belongings.
“Through COVID and the rental crisis, they lived homeless for more than 12 months,” she said, on the fundraiser.
“They decided to invest every last dollar they had to purchase a portal home, something they could call home.
“They were required to sell most of their belongings to be able to move in.”
