NSW Emergency Services Minister JIhad Dib is speaking now.

“There have been 284 flood rescues in that Mid North Coast and hunter area of New South Wales,” Dib said.

“Since midnight, there have been 150 rescues undertaken.

“We have seen an enormous amount of rainfall over the Hunter and Mid North Coast area with falls of up to 280mm in parts.

“We expect the weather today will also continue with predictions of between 150 and 200mm especially in that Mid North Coast area and what we also seeing is movement of that rain band further north, impacting southern parts around Coffs Harbour.”
