But it should be.

I assume at some point it will occur to the DNC and its social media team just how lame this is, and it will get memory-holed. Allow me to provide the quotes that “speak for themselves” far more than the Democrats apparently grasp, emphases in the original:
- “We obviously disagreed … But she’s personable.” – Sen. James Lankford
- “I always found her pleasant to deal with.” – Sen. Lindsey Graham
- “Very personable and knowledgeable.” Sen. Mitt Romney
- “We worked together well … We still say hello to each other.” — Sen. Mike Rounds
- “I don’t remember any problems with her on the committee.” — Sen. Marco Rubio
Wow! If Kamala Harris wanted to run for Miss Congeniality in Washington DC, she’d be a shoe-in. But running for president usually requires something a little more than being “personable,” “pleasant,” and not a troublemaker. And yet, these are apparently the best arguments that the Democratic National Committee can come up with as bipartisan endorsements of their Anointed Nominee.
After more than a week of research, by the way, this was the best they could do? A bunch of non-specific polite comments about Harris’ comportment?
Res ipsa loquitur, indeed.
That’s not to undervalue comity, especially in Congress, where some level of cooperation is required to get anything done. If Harris added to the comity, then that’s at least something. But when it comes to comity and graciousness, perhaps we should reflect on Harris’ more official behavior than on off-hand comments from her colleagues:
And don’t get us started on Harris’ comity during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.
Or for that matter, let’s take a look at comity and graciousness from the same Democrat Party account on X. Almost a dozen tweets sent out after this hilarious pitch about bipartisanship featured the word “weird” as a political attack, the theme du jour of Democrats when they’re not pushing Drag Queen Story Hours and pediatric sex-change therapies.
Somehow, I doubt that Democrats actually value comity as a virtue, except when it’s literally the only argument they have.
And maybe it is.
