Plus-size model Remi Bader has opened up about the criticism she’s received after gaining weight in a heartbreaking post.
Bader, 28, is a hugely popular content creator on TikTok and has amassed more than two million followers on the social media platform.
She’s known for her down-to-earth commentary and for sharing her favorite styles for curvier women, with a goal of creating “realistic” fashion content.
But while her life might look pretty close to perfect on the outside, she recently opened up about the reality of having so many followers.
In a viral TikTok that has now amassed millions of views, Bader explained that although she tries not to read “mean” things about herself online, the commentary has become unavoidable.
“There’s been a ridiculous amount of body shaming lately,” she said.

Bader said that she feels like people are just “saying things I already know,” and she pointed out it wasn’t something she needed to keep hearing.
Bader outlined that people have been commenting on how much “weight” she’s gained and how much “bigger” she’s gotten.
The scrutiny has become so severe that it has made her pull back from sharing her health journey online.
The model explained that she would no longer share any medication she’s on, her workout routines, or anything that involved her weight.
Bader said her natural instinct is to share everything that is going on in her life, but the constant commentary on her body had become too much.

She said that anyone outside of a “close friend” was no longer allowed to ask about her health or weight journey.

Bader broke down in tears and said it was very “hard” to see horrible comments about her body every day.
The viral video as flooded with supportive messages.
“People can be so cruel. I’m sorry,” someone commented.
“Protect your peace. Being online is so scary sometimes,” another wrote.
“People are so cruel. I’m so sorry. I’m glad you are putting your mental health first,” someone advised.
Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian even posted an Instagram story to throw her support behind Bader.

“You are perfection just as you are. Exactly as you come,” Khloe wrote.
“In all phases, you are perfection. Never forget that your soul sparkles, your smile is magic and your heart is pure,” she added.
Bader’s tearful admission comes after she’d recently opened up about using the diabetes drug Ozempic.
In Australia, the Therapeutic Goods Administration has only approved Ozempic to manage type 2 diabetes.
Bader appeared on the Dear Media podcast and said she’d tried Ozempic before it was “trending” but it hadn’t been helpful.
She said she lost weight on the drug but as soon as she went off she ended up gaining “double the weight back.”
