A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting another man in a bar before stabbing a taxi driver and a food delivery worker within 24 hours.
The 25-year-old was arrested in Redfern, in Sydney’s inner city and where the three alleged attacks occurred, just before 2pm on Saturday and has been charged with a string of offences including assault and possessing a prohibited drug.
Emergency services were called to a bar on Phillip Street in Redfern on Friday before midday following reports a 56-year-old man had allegedly been assaulted.
Later that night, a 38-year-old taxi driver was found with stab wounds to his chest and hand at the intersection of Walker Street and James Street in the same suburb.

Police released photos of a man they wished to speak to over the alleged assaults in Redfern on Friday night
Police were told a man had opened the passenger door of the taxi, allegedly stabbed the driver in the chest, and then fled the scene.
The alleged victim was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.
Shortly after the taxi driver was stabbed, police received reports a food delivery driver had also been allegedly attacked.
The third victim, aged 25, was allegedly stabbed in the back before he was treated and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.
The food delivery driver has since been discharged and the taxi driver is expected to be released from hospital on Sunday.
NSW Police Detective Acting Superintendent Dean Johnstone said the taxi driver had gone through a ‘horrific ordeal’.
‘It is believed the person involved in these stabbings is the same person,’ he said.
‘It is very terrifying and it’s very concerning to us, these two gentlemen were actually performing work-related functions at the time of these attacks.

NSW Police Detective Acting Superintendent Dean Johnstone said the motives of the accused man are not known
‘These are two members of our community who have gone out there and are doing their job.’
Mr Johnstone said police didn’t know what the man’s motive was as he hadn’t ‘demanded any property’ from his alleged victims.
The 25-year-old was on Saturday charged with five counts of wound a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of custody of knife in a public place, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and will face Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.
