A restaurant owner has fought back tears as he recalled fearing for his life after he was allegedly glassed by one of two men on a drunken rampage.
Adan Jimenez, owner of Papi’s Mexican Kitchen in Redcliffe north of Brisbane, says he’s lucky to be alive after he allegedly had a glass smashed over the back of his head in front of shocked families dining out on Friday night.
Two men aged 24 and 25 had allegedly gone on the rampage just before 8pm after being kicked out of Cactus Jacks bar, a few businesses up the street on the popular dining precinct Redcliffe Parade.
Police allege the pair blew a vape into the face of staff at Cactus Jacks after being asked to leave.
They then threw hand sanitiser before walking up the street causing a trail of destruction by overturning tables, throwing plates and tossing outdoor umbrellas onto the street.
The pair – one shirtless – were captured on CCTV footage arguing with restaurant staff as one worker picks up a stool trying to fend them off.

Mr Jimanez suffered a bloody gash to the back of his head and spent most of the night at hospital after his alleged run-in with the pair.
‘I felt like I could be dying,’ an emotional Mr Jimenez told Nine News.
‘No heart… I have no words to describe the kind of people who could do that to another person,’ he said.
Mr Jimenez was at Redcliffe Hospital until 3am and returned to work hours later, saying he could not afford to take the day off as he tries to make his small business a success.
‘Everything is more expensive, I’ve got to work everyday,’ he said.
