The Rangers will come back to New York tied in the Eastern Conference Final.
The Panthers won Game 5 on Tuesday night in south Florida just over a minute into overtime, with Sam Reinhart connecting on a power-play goal after Blake Wheeler took a hooking penalty.
The series is now tied a two apiece.
Game 5 is scheduled for Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.
