A classic late spring low-pressure system is rolling through Australia’s south-west, and it’s bringing with it the threat of a stormy weekend.
Sydney and Melbourne will feel high humidity on the weekend nights, and strong chances of rain too.

Sydney will see a high chance of showers on the weekend, most likely in the morning and afternoon.
Humidity is set to remain up near 94 per cent overnight, making for some potentially uncomfortable nights.
The chance of a thunderstorm will remain in place for Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday will also see 50 per cent chance of showers later in the day.
Thunderstorms and rain are forecast for the entire weekend, as Melbourne gets set to cop some wild weather.
Currently Saturday is forecast for a high temperature of 29 degrees, and an 80 per cent chance of rain persisting for the entire weekend, and into early next week.
Saturday and Sunday are both expecting to see hot dry conditions with temperatures up to 39 degrees.
Winds of up to 45 kilometres an hour are expected as firefighters continue to battle bushfires across the state.

Slight chance of a shower and light winds are in place for the Gold Coast this weekend.
Temperatures are expected to stay steady between 19 degrees and 27 at their highest.
Brisbane is also set for mild temperatures over the weekend, hovering between 19 at night and a max of 28 degrees on Sunday.
There’s a low chance of some scattered rain on Sunday and early on Saturday morning.
It’s likely to rain on Saturday morning, and stay cool the rest of the weekend in Adelaide.
Temperatures will set between 13 degrees and 21 degrees during the day, with partly cloudy conditions expected too.
