Noosa man Bodhi Risby-Jones, 23, is accused of injuring a fisherman during an alleged drunken naked rampage on a small island in the conservative, Sharia law-enforcing province of Aceh off the coast of Sumatra.
The alleged victim, local Edi Ron, needed 50 stitches after Risby-Jones is said to have thrown a motorcycle.
In a video that sees him led from his 3m-by-3m prison cell in prison-issued orange clothes, Risby-Jones says he is sorry.
“To the victim’s family and the victim, I am extremely sorry,” he said before placing his hands together and bowing his head in a prayer motion.

“I really want to make it right, and fix the issue.
The carpenter is facing years in an Indonesian prison and a public caning.
Witness Ilham said the victim passed by him on a motorcycle, and said “the foreigner stopped the victim and threw a motorcycle onto him and injured his heel”.
The police chief said the investigation is still ongoing.
It’s possible a meeting could be arranged between Risby-Jones and the alleged victim, as well as community leaders, to reach a reconciliation.
