Qantas has rerouted its direct Perth to London flight path due to tensions in the Middle East.
The airline has said outbound QF9 flights from Perth will now stop in Singapore, and take an alternative route to London as a “precaution.”

“We’re making adjustments to some of our flight paths due to the situation in parts of the Middle East as a precaution,” a Qantas spokesperson said.

The airline said it would contact customers directly if there were any changes to their bookings.

Qantas’ flights to London will be routed to Singapore for a fuel stop so they can continue to carry a full load of customers.

The return flights from London to Perth will operate directly, with help from prevailing winds.

The new outbound flights will carry flight number QF209 due to the adjusted path.

Flights from Perth to Paris and Rome will continue to operate directly in both directions.

Qantas’ other flights to and from London on QF1 and QF2 will not be affected by any changes, as they use a different flight path.

Qantas has said it monitors flight paths on a daily basis and makes adjustments on the basis of security or weather.
