Qantas is investigating reports of a security breach after customers found they were able to access strangers’ details.

Daily Mail Australia understands customers’ names, flight details, and boarding passes appeared on the mobile apps of strangers.

Many Qantas app users reported the problem on social media and said the app was allowing users to change and even cancel strangers’ seats, flights and transfer points.

‘The Qantas app has completely s**t the bed. It is showing random people’s names. Random people’s boarding passes,’ one said.

‘I can change their seats. I can transfer points. Full security breach of the entire system.’

Another said: ‘I went to to the app today to have a look at all my trips and noticed I was logged on to some obscure frequent flyer account.

‘My trips were all there but the upcoming trips name, status and points displayed were all wrong. Every time I force shutdown the app there was a different person.

‘Makes me concerned that the same thing is happening to my account somewhere.’

Qantas said it was aware of the problem and an urgent investigation was underway.

‘Qantas is investigating reports of an issue impacting the Qantas app this morning, we will provide more information as soon as possible,’ a spokesperson said.
